Summary of the numbered steps to take:
- learn scale patterns (pentatonic, etc.);
- play the scale up and down trying to find melodic patterns (the limitation here is that they will sound has scales);
- learn melodic patterns (so the scales dont sound too much as scales);
- learn guitar techniques like (bends, hammerons, pulloffs, etc.);
- learn how to do phrasing, a common way to do this is learning blues and rock licks from your favorite guitar players and try to incorporate them into your "vocabolary" (learn "words");
- keep learning more and more licks to wide your vocabulary;
- learn intervalic pentatonic licks (to start using/exploring the scales in a diferent/new way);
